Florida is considering using data collected by far-right activists, some of whom falsely claim the 2020 election was stolen, to potentially purge voters from the state’s rolls. Emails reveal that a network of activists provided names of about 10,000 voters for review.

However, the source and methodology of this data remain unclear. The initiative, spearheaded by activists like Dan Heim, utilizes a database called EagleAI, which flags registrations based on various criteria. Concerns have been raised by voting rights groups about the reliability and legality of using such data, as well as the potential for voter suppression.

The Florida Secretary of State has been urged to disregard the data and not to engage in improper communication or actions regarding voter eligibility.
